The health benefits of turmeric
Similar to the ginger root, turmeric is a root also. It has been used in India for many years as a spice and medicinal herb. Turmeric contains curcumin. Curcumin has powerful anti-inflammatory effects. Also, it's a strong antioxidant.
Antioxidants help protect the body against damage caused by free radicals.
Besides being a powerful antioxidant, turmeric is also thought to have digestive benefits, cholesterol-lowering, and anti-carcinogenic properties.
