When you are seeking out to sip on something warm, but want to skip coffee, this is the perfect beverage. With just a few simple ingredients you could too make a pretty pink beetroot latte just like they make at trendy cafés.
What do beets taste like?
Beetroots tend to have an earthy taste, but it depends a lot on how it’s cooked. Beetroot powder tastes fruitier and less earthy. If you are not a fan of a beetroot taste, try beet powder. Beets are chockfull of vitamins and nutrients, so adding it to your diet could have positive effects on your health.
Beetroot powder is a highly concentrated form, one teaspoon is equivalent of an entire beet.
Where to buy beetroot powder?
You can buy beetroot powder in health stores and many grocery stores.
It´s simple making homemade beetroot powder too, using food dehydrator and coffee grinder.
How to make it foamy?
I use a handheld foamer and Oatly barista oat milk. If you don’t need to have a super foamy latte, like me, using any other plant-based milk should work perfectly fine in this recipe.
- ½ cup (2,4 dl) barista oat milk
- ½ tsp beetroot powder
- pinch of cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
- Pour the oat milk, add beetroot powder, a pinch of ground cinnamon and nutmeg, into a large mug.
- Use a handheld milk foamer for a few minutes to mix everything together and create bubbles.
- Heat your latte in the microwave for 1 minute.
- Pour into a drinking mug and enjoy immediately.
