Have you ever tried to make raw energy bites?
If the answer is yes, then you know how easy it is to make them.
This three ingredients recipe is one of my favorite because of the simplicity of the recipe. If you still feel like you don’t have enough time to spend a few minutes in the kitchen (Hey life can be busy. I don’t judge), you can make them in advance and just store in the fridge for few days. When you want some quick snack, you know where to find them. If there is any left, of course.
One of the ingredients in this recipe is dates. Have I ever told you how much I love dates? Well, I do.
They taste just perfect. They are naturally sweet, soft and delicious. Dates are also a healthier substitute for refined white sugar, and I am all about substituting less healthy with a healthier alternative.
So what is maca powder?
If you are like me, always trying out the latest superfoods, then you have probably already heard about maca powder. Maybe you have even used it in smoothies, cakes, etc.
If you never heard of maca before, maca is a root that is mainly grown in the high altitudes of Peru. It is traditionally used to improve energy and stamina, and even hormone balance.
Maca is a great source of several important vitamins and minerals, like vitamin c, iron, zinc, copper.
I use it mostly in smoothies, oatmeal, raw vegan desserts like energy bites and raw cashew cheesecakes.
With its earthy and nutty taste, maca tastes like nothing I eat before. I really enjoy the taste, but many people don’t. If you never tried maca before, I can really recommend trying it, if not for the taste you can try it for all the health benefits.
